Job Description
The Operations Manager position is responsible for all manufacturing processes in the plant. This position is responsible for reporting of all KPI’s, production & labor reporting as well as assigned projects. Must lead, motivate and provide resources and knowledge to process work teams and assure that products are manufactured in a cost efficient and timely manner while following EH&S and quality standards. This person will develop processes that will maximize safety, quality, productivity, and profitability while meeting customer service standards. They will be responsible for the training and development of staff as well as maintaining a positive climate for employee relations. This person must also be hands-on, willing to roll up their sleeves to help build product and / or troubleshoot when issues arise.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include, interviewing and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, performance appraisals, addressing complaints and resolving problems or disciplining employees.
- Performs prescribed quality procedures in accordance with plant quality system requirements.
- Assigns production hours for each department based on workload.
- Reviews accuracy of production hours to job and for standard cost purposes.
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
- Adjusts errors and complaints.

- Qualifications : degree or equivalent, a minimum of two to four years’ manufacturing production leadership experience preferred.
- Strong team leadership, interpersonal, people management and communication skills.
- Comprehensive experience in production planning and workflow optimization.
- Strong command of production systems including ERP, MRP, and MES.
- In-depth understanding of lean manufacturing / continuous improvement activities including Kaizen projects, VSM, and Gemba walks.
- Familiarity with automation technologies.
- Proficient in setting and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Solid background in budgeting and scheduling.
- Skilled in root cause analysis and driving process improvement initiatives.
- Highly analytical, with a talent for troubleshooting production and quality issues.
- Experience thriving in high-pressure environments and managing shifting priorities.
- Committed to maintaining workplace organization and safety, including OSHA safety certifications.
- Strong reasoning ability. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and or schedule form.
- Demonstrated ability to work in an organizational culture of high performance, employee involvement, and continuous improvement and team concepts.
- Proficient with PCs, Microsoft Suite, timekeeping, and other production data management systems
