Summary
The Respiratory Care Practitioner provides respiratory care to patients.

Qualifications
Education
Required : graduate of an AMA accredited respiratory care program.
Certifications
Required : Possession of current State of Texas License / RRT; BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
Preferred : RRT / Registered Respiratory Therapist

Education :
Required : Graduate of an AMA accredited respiratory care program.
Alabama - Minimum Education Requirements : Graduate of a CoArc approved program (or successor organization), eligible to sit for CRT / RRT exam and holding a temporary license issued by the State of Alabama.
Work experience may NOT substitute for minimum education requirement.

Alabama - Minimum Certification Requirements : BCLS required upon hire. ACLS, PALS and / or NRP may be required by facility policy based on duty assignment, to be completed within 3 months of hire.
State Respiratory Therapy License and Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required upon hire.
If Temporarily Licensed via Alabama Board for Respiratory Therapy, CRT or RRT must be obtained prior to expiration of temporary license.
