Exercises technical and administrative supervision over subordinate workers.
Plans the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials based on workload projections on a weekly or monthly basis.
Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, in accordance with general work schedules, methods, and policies established by higher-level supervisors.
Determines the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects.
Assigns work to individual workers by verbal or written instructions.
Monitors work in progress and inspects completed work to assure work order requirements.
Set performance standards for subordinates and makes formal appraisals of their work performance.
Counsels employees and discusses informal complaints and grievances with workers and union representatives.
Initiates disciplinary actions as needed.
Maintains work reports and records.

Supervisory Probation
Completion of Supervisory Certification Program
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Material Handling Equipment (MHE) license.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license / certification to operate government vehicles.
Must be able to obtain and maintain licenses and / or certifications required by the installation, federal, state, and local laws.
Ability to Supervise : I assist with planning and organizing work activities for employees. Examples include : Advise supervisor of problems involving disciplinary actions and counseling on conduct; set goals and deadlines for accomplishing work; and give instructions to employees on work procedures and safety.
Physical Effort : Stands on hard surfaces for extended periods of time. Bending, stooping, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 pounds. Uses weight handling equipment or receives assistance from other workers for items heavier than 40 pounds.
Working Conditions : Works outside and inside areas that are hot, damp, cold, drafty, and poorly lighted. Subject to cuts, scrapes, bruises, muscle strain, noise, abrasions, falls, and injury from falling stock. When working in hazardous materials areas, employee may be subject to exposure from toxins, or chemical fumes, and hazardous. Wears protective clothing such as steel toed shoes, respirators, safety glasses, and earplugs. Mechanized roller conveyors are often present and is a normal part of material routing and distribution.
