Senior Staff Writer Job at Pillar4 Media in Charlotte

The Opportunity Pillar4 Media is seeking a Senior Staff Writer to join its fast-growing team.

As a Senior Staff Writer, you'll work closely with our editors to write dynamic reviews and roundups of popular health and wellness products available on the market today. You'll work closely with the SEO and revenue teams to plan, edit, and create compelling content that's engaging, informative, and optimized for web search.

What You'll Be Doing Reporting to the Managing Editor, the Senior Staff Writer will :

Write in-depth product reviews and roundups. These will require you to convey essential information about a variety of health and wellness products in a voice that's captivating, knowledgeable, and easy to understand. The reviews will be long-form and comprehensive, averaging 2,000 words each, and the roundups will come in at about 6,000 words.

Conduct deep research in peer-reviewed journals and other scholarly sources and translate this knowledge for a wider audience.

Carry out content optimizations, working closely with the SEO and revenue teams.

Test products and / or collaborate with product testers to secure original experience notes, images, and other rich media for content.

Play an active role in developing testing methodologies, becoming a subject matter expert across multiple product categories.

Cultivate relationships with medical advisory teams and be able to work through expert medical review edits.

Uphold our high standards for editorial excellence as well as SEO. Each piece of content must be optimized, on brand, and delivered on time.

Post and format content in our CMS platform.

What You Bring 3-5 years of e-commerce writing experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an eye toward SEO optimization

Knowledge of AP style

Experience leading and managing editorial projects from inception to execution

Experience writing about health and wellness products and services

Excellent organizational skills and ability to think critically and creatively to meet deadlines

Experience working in common CMS platforms like WordPress

Proven ability to juggle multiple projects at once and self-direct timelines

Drive to quickly gain expertise on a subject matter that might be foreign to you

Familiarity working in a challenging, fast-paced environment

Openness to editorial feedback and ability to quickly / efficiently apply edits forward to future copy

Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English, or related field preferred; commensurate experience accepted
