Join our team as a Lead Sterile Processing Technician!
As a key member of our sterile processing team, you will lead your colleagues by sharing advanced knowledge of best practices and responsibilities. This is your chance to make a real impact in a vital department while helping to ensure the highest level of patient care.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating departmental policies and procedures.
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and performance evaluation to enhance team productivity and quality management.
- Coordinate departmental services, prioritize tasks, and encourage situational problem-solving and decision-making among team members.
- Engage in ordering supplies and monitor production and quality metrics for the department.
- Perform necessary responsibilities while guiding your team on complex issues requiring expertise.
- Exhibit critical thinking skills and exercise decisive judgement while working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications :
High School diploma or GED is required. Completion of a Medical Terminology course is preferred.Certification as a CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) or CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) is required. Additional certifications like CHL, CIS, or CER by HSPA or CBSPD are preferred.A minimum of 2 years of sterile processing experience is necessary.BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer is required before start date, with a card valid for at least sixty days after hire.At UCHealth, we take pride in improving lives through learning, healing, and discovery.
