IT Project Manager / Technical Lead- Remote Opportunity

Location : Primarily remote (Fairfax, Arlington, or Prince William, VA (onsite minimal)

Duration : 5 years contract

Government IT experience or Public sector experience is mandate

Candidates who can work independently are more preferred.

Job Overview : Responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering multiple IT projects for Client. Acts as the main client contact and ensures all work aligns with university IT policies.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead IT projects using Agile or Waterfall methodologies
• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and deliverables

Coordinate with internal Client's stakeholders and technical teams

Track risks, maintain project documentation, and ensure stakeholder satisfaction

Skills / Experience : PMP or Agile certification preferred, 10+ years' experience, strong leadership and communication skills.

Mandatory Qualifications :

Minimum 5 10 years of relevant IT consulting or technical experience

Proven experience in higher education, public sector, or large enterprise IT projects

Technical expertise in one or more : software development, data analytics, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, or project management

Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile, and IT governance frameworks

Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills

Preferred Skills

Prior experience with universities or government technology engagements

Certifications such as PMP, AWS / Azure, ITIL, or CISSP

Familiarity with ERP / CRM environments and data modernization initiatives

Proficiency with Power BI, SQL, and automation tools
