- We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional to join our procurement team as a Buyer, Indirect.
- The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the uninterrupted flow of materials and supplies necessary for the maintenance, repair, and operations of our organization.
- The Buyer, Indirect, will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing Indirect goods and services while maintaining cost-effectiveness and high-quality standards.
- Serves as a primary point of contact for and liaison with Maintenance, Facilities, Quality, and Manufacturing Departments for parts and supplies ordering.
Responsibilities
Supplier Relationship Management :Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable Indirect suppliers.Collaborate with vendors to negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.Monitor supplier performance and address any issues to ensure consistent quality and reliability.Work directly with Vendors to confirm delivery schedules, expedite, and support issue resolution.Purchase Order Management :Generate accurate and timely purchase orders based on Indirect requirements.Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.Ensure timely delivery of purchased materials, including system updates for tracking of timeliness, to support production schedules and stakeholder demands.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather specifications and requirements for Indirect purchases.Inventory Management :Work closely with Indirect IVC stakeholders to set and maintain optimal stock levels of Indirect items.Cost Analysis and Savings :Analyze cost structures, conduct price benchmarking, and implement cost-saving opportunities.Continuous Improvement :Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies in Indirect procurement.Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices.Participate in cross-functional teams to drive overall procurement excellence.Qualifications
Education :
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). An Associate Degree (A.S.) from an accredited institution, technical school background preferred.Experience :
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a procurement or related field or a combination of education and experience.Experience in Procurement and Buyer is preferred.Good interpersonal and management skillsMust be able to deal independently with a wide range of complex technical, personnel, and other issues on a routine basis.Oracle knowledge helpfulWillingness to work as needed within a team environment in support of company goals.Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn new equipment and skills is a requirement.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Organizational skills in planning, goal setting, prioritizing work and coordinating with operations. Strong oral and written communication skills to be able to effectively interface with all levels of personnel, and outside contractors.Strong and proactive communication skills.Must have a continuous improvement mentality and strong analysis skills.Ability to work under pressure and respond with a sense of urgency.Interact with IVC maintenance, quality, and production employees, supervisors, and staff in addition to vendors and contractors.Travel is minimal but may be necessary at times to work with partners in other IVC manufacturing locations.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed by people assigned to this job.
