Overview

Reporting to the President, the Business Development Manager, is responsible for overseeing the Business Development needs for International Programs Group in the United States.

This role requires hands-on industry experience with a track record of client development, sales, negotiations, and the ability to provide growth and opportunity across the organization.

As a key member of the IPG Management team, the Business Development Manager works closely with the Managing Director, Head of Claims and Head of Operations within the IPG US division.

IPG works in the contiguous 48 states, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico handling a variety of claims including, but not limited to auto physical damage, inland marine cargo, dealers' open lot, property damage (commercial and homeowners) and general liability.

Job Responsibilities (full-time) :

  • Develop highly productive relationships and partnerships across the insurance and corporate sectors in leading alignment of services and products
  • Development and expansion of new business opportunities for IPG
  • Development and implementation of short and long-term strategic sales initiatives for existing and prospective clients
  • Develop and lead Client presentations, systems / technology demonstrations, process and workflow solutions
  • Responsible for key account management, and expansion of growth opportunities
  • Maintain existing relationships with industry connections
  • Accountability for all sales initiatives , overall direction and process improvement of accounts
  • Participate in marketing events; seminars, trade shows, conferences and industry functions - Travel within the United States with occasional to the overseas
  • Develop relationships and cross sell with the other SCM companies
  • Communicates with clients, carriers and brokers in a professional, positive and proactive manner.
  • Work collaboratively across all internal departments.
  • Adhere to all company and department personnel policies and procedures.
  • Other related responsibilities and tasks as assigned by your immediate supervisor or other management as directed.
  • Duties may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.

Qualifications :

Education and / or Experience

Minimum of 3-5 years sales and account management experience

Five years Insurance industry experience within claims

Good to have MGA / Broker Relationships and Captive Manager Space

Bachelor’s degree is preferred

Experience with Lloyd’s of London Coverholders experience is considered an asset

Computer Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office
