Job Description : Based on John Muir Health Nursing's Vision of being the innovative leader for the professional role of the registered nurse. The staff registered nurse (RN) is a licensed professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for planning, delegating, and coordinating the nursing care of a group of patients during a designated time frame utilizing the John Muir Medical Center Standards of Care, ANA's Standards of Practice and Professional Performance, and the California Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, and Title 16. The RN coordinates and provides care through the therapeutic use of self, nursing process, and the environment and technology, in partnership and collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.\n\nEducation : \n

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing - Required\n\nExperience : \n
  • 6 Months Nursing - Acute Care - Required\n
  • 2000 hours Nursing - Cardiac Catheterization - Must be Obtained within last 2 years - Core Requirement\n
  • 2000 hours Cath Lab Doing no Fewer than 30 case per Month and Full Spectrum of Interventional Procedures - Must be Obtained within last 2 years - Core Requirement\n\n??Certifications / Licensures : \n
  • RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Nursing - Required\n
  • BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association - Required\n
  • ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association - Core Requirement, but Preferred when not providing patient care assignments / tasks\n
  • ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association - Non-Core Requirement, but Preferred when not providing patient care assignments / tasks\n
  • Approved Cardiac Rhythm Test - Must Pass at time of hire (Required if hired after 11 / 15 / 2018) - Required\n

  • Minimum 1000 hours experience as an RN in a Cath lab / angiography PPR\n
  • Demonstrates competency in the care of patients undergoing interventional procedures, both prep and recovery post procedure.\n
  • Meets competency standard for assistance with minor procedures; including but not limited to cardioversion, TEE, paracentesis, thoracentesis.\n
  • Demonstrates competency in the care of patients undergoing interventional procedures, both pre- and post-procedure.\n
  • Meets competency standard for assistance with minor procedures, i.e.; cardioversion, TEE, paracentesis, thoracentesis\n
  • Demonstrates competency in current anesthetic agent pharmacology, cardiac pharmacology, vasoactive therapy and ventilator set-up / management, malignant hyperthermia management and airway management.\n
  • Demonstrates competency in caring for hemodynamically stable and unstable patients, including acute MI.\n
  • Meets competency standards for preadmission process and procedure and standardized discharge.\n\nFor Cardiac Cath Lab, Invasive Cardiology, Special Procedures, and Cardiac Rhythm Center Positions-\n\nCore / Non-Core listed below : \n\nCore : \n
  • Minimum 2000 hours experience as an RN working in a Cardiac Cath Lab, Angiography, Interventional Radiology, and / or Electrophysiology lab participating in no fewer than 30 procedures per month, doing a full spectrum of interventional procedures within the past 2 years.\n
  • Demonstrates competency in caring for patients undergoing specialized treatments including, but not limited to, the EKOS system, intra-aortic balloon counter pulsation therapy, Impella therapy, Cardiac Device implants, complex electrophysiology studies, and / or complex ablation procedures.\n
  • Meets competency standards for scrubbing, circulating or recording in interventional cardiology, radiology, electrophysiology, and / or cardiac device implant procedures.\n\nWork Shift : 10.0 - 06 : 30 - 17 : 30 No Waive (United States of America)\n\nPay Range : \n$81.09 - $110.48HourlyOffer amounts are based on demonstrated / relevant experience and / or licensure.\nPay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area.\n\nNote : Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting.
