Schedule : Monday-Friday, 8 : 30 AM-4 : 30 PM

Type : Full-time, 100% onsite

Our client, a small community-focused organization in Waterbury, is seeking a hands-on Temporary Accountant to support their day-to-day accounting operations while the CFO focuses on a major systems migration and banking transition project.

About the Role :

The Accountant will handle core accounting duties, including transactional processing, account reconciliations, and assisting with payroll entry. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented who enjoys working in a small office setting and can jump right into day-to-day accounting responsibilities.

Responsibilities :

Manage daily accounting operations in QuickBooks, including A / P, A / R, deposits, and check processing

Assist with payroll entries and reporting in ADP

Support monthly financial close and account reconciliations

Help maintain internal controls and assist in building new financial processes

Coordinate with the CFO to ensure smooth financial operations during the system transition

Provide light support for subsidiary entities and related nonprofit programs

Qualifications :

Experience with QuickBooks is required

Strong Excel skills (pivot tables and lookups)

Sage experience a plus (organization is exploring migration between systems)

Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality

Comfortable in a small, team-oriented environment
