Position Overview :

To assist in the transport of shelter clients to medical and case worker appointments to different services and agencies throughout Stanislaus County.

Duties :

• Drive program vehicles as it relates to all phases of program implementation, including but not limited to : donation pick-ups, food deliveries, picking up supplies, delivering clients to medical and case worker appointments, etc.
• Assist with the transport, loading and unloading of handicapped clients into ADA accessible vehicles
• Ensures that vehicle mileage logs are filled out accurately and completely.
• Responsible for fueling of vehicle at the end or during a shift if needed.
• Organize and collect data for inventory, prepare reports, vehicle inspections, cooperate with others, etc.
• Work with minimum supervision and a high degree of independence. May be required to make independent decisions that may involve unique or unusual situations and / or complex issues and dealing with demanding requests and / or timelines.
• Other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisor

Desired Skills & Abilities :

• Education and / or work experience commensurate with the duties and responsibilities required.
• Must possess a valid CA Drivers License
• Must be able to pass a motor vehicle check.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Good physical condition.
• Ability to carry out assignments in the absence of direct supervision
• Able to function on schedule in regards to keeping appointments.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, co-workers and the public.
