Position Overview :
To assist in the transport of shelter clients to medical and case worker appointments to different services and agencies throughout Stanislaus County.
Duties :
- Drive program vehicles as it relates to all phases of program implementation, including but not limited to : donation pick-ups, food deliveries, picking up supplies, delivering clients to medical and case worker appointments, etc.
- Assist with the transport, loading and unloading of handicapped clients into ADA accessible vehicles
- Ensures that vehicle mileage logs are filled out accurately and completely.
- Responsible for fueling of vehicle at the end or during a shift if needed.
- Organize and collect data for inventory, prepare reports, vehicle inspections, cooperate with others, etc.
- Work with minimum supervision and a high degree of independence. May be required to make independent decisions that may involve unique or unusual situations and / or complex issues and dealing with demanding requests and / or timelines.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisor
Desired Skills & Abilities :
- Education and / or work experience commensurate with the duties and responsibilities required.
- Must possess a valid CA Drivers License
- Must be able to pass a motor vehicle check.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Good physical condition.
- Ability to carry out assignments in the absence of direct supervision
- Able to function on schedule in regards to keeping appointments.
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, co-workers and the public.
- Ability to interact with volunteers and the public in a positive, professional manner in conformity with The Salvation Army mission statement.

- Possess self-discipline necessary to perform repetitive tasks without lowering the quality of work.
