Unit Based Medical Director, Patient Flow Center *Ochsner Medical Center* in New Orleans, Louisiana is seeking a physician to serve as a Unit Based Medical Director of the Patient Flow Center.
The ideal candidate must be board certified in Internal Medicine and should have 3-5 years of experience as a staff physician.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES : Work as a front-line PILOT* Work as a front-line Hospitalist* Create PILOT orientation / on-boarding process* Recruitment and Training of PILOTs* Evaluation and scheduling of PILOTs* Manages PILOT team* Develop optimized PILOT staffing model to support PFC growth / expansion* Develops PILOT Quality Assurance / Performance Improvement processes* Transfer Acceptance Note chart reviews* Audio recording reviews* Project development (examples : transfer delays, patient and provider experience, documentation, guidelines for safe transfers, etc )* Develops and optimizes operational / logistical / informational workflows (examples : PFC RN-to-MD handoffs, MD-to-MD handoffs, new facility processes)* Investigate escalations involving PILOTs and / or HM* Develop Service-Line and Diagnosis-Based Protocols* Create PILOT job description to include a potential increase in scope* Participates in PFC Peer Review Committee* Participates in PFC Council* Shares equitable PFC call responsibility* Develops metrics and reports related to PILOT* Publication / presentation developmentOchsner Health System is Louisiana’s largest non-profit, academic, healthcare system.
