Safety Group Manager

Job Description

Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is seeking to hire a Group Manager for the SRNL Safety & Health (S&H) organization. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing and implementing S&H programs and initiatives. This role involves ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship, and leading a team of S&H professionals.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive S&H programs, policies, and procedures to comply with regulatory requirements and company standards.
• Oversee and manage S&H audits, inspections, and assessments to identify potential risks and ensure adherence to S&H regulations and best practices.
• Lead and mentor a team of S&H professionals, providing direction, support, and performance feedback.
• Collaborate with various departments to integrate S&H considerations into business operations and decision-making processes.
• Monitor and analyze S&H performance metrics and trends and develop strategies for continuous improvement.
• Ensure timely reporting and communication of S&H incidents, near-misses, and corrective actions to relevant stakeholders.
• Stay current with federal, state, and local S&H regulations and industry standards, and communicate changes to the organization.
• Coordinate and deliver S&H training programs to employees at all levels, ensuring awareness and understanding of S&H policies and procedures.
• Promote a culture of safety, sustainability, and health through proactive engagement and education initiatives.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external regulatory agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding S&H matters.
