A growing construction and manufacturing company in the Baltimore Metro area seeks a qualified Junior Project Accountant
Key Responsibilities
- Support project accounting functions including billing, cost tracking, and financial reporting.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing monthly job cost reports and variance analyses.
- Process vendor invoices, subcontractor payments, and purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of project budgets, commitments, and change orders.
- Work closely with Project Managers to monitor project financial performance and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with monthly project reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.
- Prepare client invoices and ensure timely collection of receivables.
- Support internal and external audits with required documentation.
- Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the project accounting function.
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Experience : 1-2 years of accounting experience; prior experience in construction or project-based accounting is a plus.Technical Skills :Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
Familiarity with accounting / project management software (e.g., Sage 300, Viewpoint, Procore, QuickBooks, or similar).Core Competencies :Strong analytical and organizational skills
