Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) will deliver high-quality patient care on the Oncology / Medical-Surgical unit. Responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring patient status, performing assessments, coordinating care plans, and supporting patients undergoing cancer treatments. The role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage a varied Med-Surg / Oncology caseload.

Unit : Oncology – (Travelers will work inpatient only)

Unit Type : Med-Surg / Oncology

Care Setting : Acute Care

Charting System : MEDITECH 6.1

Trauma Level : —

Unit Structure :

29 beds

Ratios : 1 : 5 (occasionally 1 : 6)

Outpatient unit present, but travel nurses will only work on the inpatient floor

Additional Notes :

ONS preferred if the candidate wants to administer chemotherapy

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience in Med-Surg or Oncology

Active RN license (GA or compact accepted)

BLS (AHA)

NIHSS (preferred but strongly recommended)

Experience in acute care settings

Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

ONS chemotherapy certification (if planning to give chemo)

Strong oncology nursing background

Experience in high-volume hospital settings

Excellent communication and patient-education skills
