Incumbent serves as Part-time Qualified Medical Assistant (QMA) for Tippecanoe County Health Department and Community Corrections responsible for providing medical support services for the Department.
DUTIES :
Provides reminders and observes participants during medication distribution at scheduled times, takes vital signs, and assists participants with treatment, recording on participant's electronic medical records (EMR).
Schedules and prepares participants for medical appointments, including preparing forms, arranging transportation, and charting.
Communicates collaboratively with other staff in Department regarding changes in medication, treatment, various record changes, and changes in the participant's condition.
Notifies the Nurse Practicioner or Health Officer of any issues needing immediate attention and notifies emergency personnel as needed.
Makes rounds to monitor participants as necessary.
Answers telephone and radio communication as needed, directing appropriate personnel and / or taking messages.
Monitors medications and supplies inventory and places orders as required, including ordering medication refills from pharmacies as needed.
Performs cleaning chores as scheduled, such as washing and sanitizing medication trays, countertops, medicine carts, refrigerator, desk, and charts.
Serves on 24-hour call for emergencies.
Performs related duties as assigned.
