Job description

California Institute of Applied Technology (CIAT) is seeking an Information Technology Instructor to teach synchronous online courses via Microsoft Teams. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mentoring others and experience in the field of information technology.

Responsibilities :

  • Teach synchronous online courses via Microsoft Teams on Monday and Tuesday every week
  • Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning and engagement
  • Modify instructional methods to meet diverse student needs
  • Employ teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter to students
  • Current certifications in subjects taught

Mastery Of Subject Matter :

  • Demonstrate thorough and accurate knowledge of the field or discipline
  • Connect subject matter with related fields
  • Stay current in the subject matter through professional development

    • Adhering To College Policies And Procedures :

  • Ensure Student Database is updated and accurate
  • Maintain compliance with accreditation and CIAT policies
  • Submit required documentation
  • Communicate requirements for textbooks, supplies, and equipment
  • Adhere to the CIAT business casual attire policy

    • Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
  • Certification in the subject being taught (CCNA preferred)
  • At least three years of experience in the field or two years of teaching experience
  • Synchronous online teaching experience preferred
  • Effective presentation and communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office applications and learning technologies

    • Position Type and Expected Hours of Work :

    Days and hours of work are usually Monday through Friday, but weekend and evening hours may be required. Live classes are scheduled twice per week, on Monday and Tuesday from 6 : 00 pm to 9 : 30 pm PT.
