What You’ll Do*
In this position, you will be an integral member of our IT Security team responsible for designing, implementing, administering, and monitoring security from a user administration and data protection perspective for OPERS’ Information Systems.
This position is also responsible for implementation and maintaining security measures to support the information and data security needs of OPERS applications and computer systems as well as ensuring the safety and privacy of OPERS IT assets.
As the face of IT Security to the organization, you will partner with management and business units supporting and assisting in the creation and management of internal e-mail phishing campaigns, end user security training, and helping to identify organizational risk from ransomware and social engineering attacks.
You will be instrumental in auditing security controls, identifying security issues and developing the plans to mitigate risks, among other duties.

- What you’ll bring*
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field along with at least 4 years’ of working experience in IT security design and engineering
- An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- At least 3 years of working experience in computer networking
- Web and database application programming experience
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify and document the root cause of issues and effectively communicate possible solutions
- A team player mentality with a strong sense of self-motivation and a customer service-oriented attitude
- Must be able to comply with the OPERS Personal Trading Policy
- What we hope you’ll bring*
- A minimum of 3 years working experience in Active Directory administration
- A minimum of 3 years Unix / Linux security admin experience
- Working experience in .Net, ASP, and other high-level programming languages, designing and maintaining the same.
- SQL expertise in T-SQL, Stored Procedures, and data management for both SQL Server platforms
