Overview
The Senior Project Manager is a senior leadership role overseeing the most complex and large-scale projects in the studio, from initial planning through completion. The role focuses on client leadership, fee and scope management, and the coordination of project teams and less experienced project managers.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the largest and most complex projects, preparing strategic plans and overseeing all phases from conception through construction.
- Serve as primary client liaison, ensuring schedules, budgets and project scope are met while maintaining high client satisfaction.
- Estimate fees, define the scope of work, and prepare proposals and contracts for major projects.
- Coordinate all project efforts, both administrative and technical, ensuring efficient and cost-effective project execution.
- Provide oversight, direction and monitoring for less experienced project managers and project teams.
- Actively manage client budgets, programs, communications, documentation and office administrative tasks related to assigned projects.
- Ensure full compliance with relevant building, accessibility, health and safety codes and professional standards of care.
Skills and experience
10+ years of professional experience in architecture or a closely related field, with significant project management responsibility.Architectural licensure preferred but not required.Proven experience leading large, complex projects and managing multiple stakeholders.Strong capability in fee development, contract negotiation, scheduling and risk management.Demonstrated leadership of teams, including mentoring and overseeing other project managers.
