Food Services Worker / Driver

Urban Street Angels is a non-profit serving homeless youth ages 18-25.

USA is searching for an experienced full-time food services worker and driver that will mainly be responsible for picking up food donations, delivering daily meals and prep-cooking. All other food services duties will be covered by this position when time permits such as dishwashing, cleaning and organizing fridges, packaging food and any other help needed in the food department.

Pay : $23-$25 / hour (nonexempt)

Responsibilities :

• Manages food donation pick-ups 5 days a week;
• Manages meals drop offs at each location 5 days a week;
• Plans, organizes, interpret instructions and recipes to quality food standards;
• Good knowledge of various types of kitchen equipment;
• Very good knife skills with the ability to prep food for chefs;
• Must be able to maintain sanitary, health and safety standards;
• Efficiency in time management;
• Monitor food and ensure proper temperature and consistency;
• Daily cleaning and dish duties;
• Daily meal packaging;
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor
• All work performed in-person

Qualifications :

Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Minimum of 1 year experience working in the food industry or equivalent knowledge of how to separate and handle food properly;

Must have valid California Driver license for at least 2 years and satisfactory driving record;

Must be able to lift 40lbs 80lbs on a regular basis;

Experience working with or willing to work with homeless youth;

Must submit to a background check via Live Scan (with ongoing alerts), as required by specific programs, funding requirements and licensing regulations;

Ability to drive large commercial refrigerated van;

Certified or willing to be certified as a food handler
