Senior Financial Analyst
The Opportunity
This position works out of our Menlo Park, CA location in the Structural Heart Division. Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of structural heart disease.
This role supports our Manufacturing Operations and Supply Chain with budgeting and forecasting. Responsible for developing, interpreting and implementing financial concepts for financial reporting and control.
Understand and apply complex concepts. Identify risks, propose recommendations and solutions to issues. Implement solutions for problem resolution.
Complete a wide range of financial services and deliverables. Assess reasonableness and relevance of financial assumptions with limited supervision.
What You’ll Work On
Analyze monthly manufacturing and work orders variances.
Develop Standard Cost and perform cost roll-up in SAP.
Create actuals that meet timing and quality of presentation requirements and facilitate management review and decision making.
Assure availability of timely and well-presented, high-quality actual P&L, balance sheet, and sales detail results vs. current and prior year benchmarks as well as trended information.
Maintain controls to assure the integrity of assets and the compliance with GAAP.
This responsibility should be performed in a way that avoids any surprises and that could reasonably have been foreseen by the relevant level of financial management as well as protecting the company's assets.
Increase and maintain professional development to contribute to a financial organization capable of meeting Division and Corporate requirements.
Ensures appropriate integrity and reasonableness of financial data as well as compliance with Corp / Div financial policies and procedures, and understanding of GAAP.
Responsible for adherence to Abbott accounting policies and procedures (CFMs). Provide financial support and fully support achievement of financial plans, goals and objectives.
Seeks guidance on issues outside of normal scope.
Very organized with good interpersonal, communication, and presentations skills.
Operate with limited supervision on projects with significant interface across functions and groups.
Balance demands of a variety of customers with potentially conflicting goals.
Meet deadlines with minimal supervision and balance workload requirements. Accountable for meeting critical project deliverables.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree or equivalent years' experience; bachelors' degree preferred in accounting or finance.
3 plus years accounting or finance related experience.
Ability to analyze and interpret data.
Ability to plan, implement, and administer financial information and control systems.
Knowledge of the principles, processes and standards for integrated financial analysis and reporting.
Proficient in Excel.
Understanding of financial accounting systems, preferably PeopleSoft.
