Procurement Specialist
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for carrying out good purchasing practices. The Specialist ensures PAR levels, price accuracy, and lot traceability and collaborates with the Operations team members responsible for handling damages and shorts upon receipt.
Job Responsibilities :
- Tracks inventory in IGF's distribution centers, including cycle counts and investigations into count discrepancies
- Maintains consistent quantity on hand of all regular stock items
- Places POs for direct shipments
- Creates transfer orders to move product from Woodbridge to the Distribution Centers (DC)
- Brings in special order items
- Increases turns per year to avoid over-stocking, ensure product shelf life, and lower inventory carrying cost
- Tracks and verifies product costs
- Accounts for demand variances due to seasonal and other sales spikes
- Works with the Logistics team to ensure best freight practices
- Works with the DC Inventory teams to reconcile receiving and transfer shorts, overages, damages, and other shipment discrepancies to ensure inventory accuracy
- Ensures product quality by collaborating with the DC Operations teams to proactively address damages, shorts, and packaging errors upon receipt
- Minimizes carrying cost by collaborating with the DC Operations teams to comply with special handling instructions, optimize storage space, and properly rotate product
- Helps to ensure vendors' and suppliers' compliance with agreements and contracts, reports instances of noncompliance to the Director of Vendor Relations

Qualifications :
Minimum one year of experience in high volume warehouse or receiving / replenishmentPrevious experience in procurement, supply chain, or a related fieldPrevious experience with dynamic replenishment systemsA strong knowledge of all aspects of transportation, shipping and receiving, and inventory controlProficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Dynamics, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and WordStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to read, write, and count accuratelyAttention to detail and finely tuned time management skillsHigh school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is a plus
