Locum Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine NV
Join a vital mission to serve our nation's Veterans as a Locum Nurse Practitioner specializing in General Medicine. This unique opportunity allows you to perform essential Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments nationwide while maintaining your own practice location. In this role, you will conduct interview-based assessments with some physical evaluations such as range of motion and muscle strength testing. No prescribing or treatment is involved. You will be responsible for completing assessments efficiently, submitting detailed reports including addendums, and adhering to specific rate structures. This position offers steady, ongoing work on a PRN basis with the flexibility of half-day or full-day shifts, involving minimal travel within designated areas of Nevada.
Required Skills:
- Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in Nevada
- Experience in General Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Orthopedic Surgery
- Strong interview and physical assessment skills
- Ability to complete accurate documentation and reports
- Self-motivated with excellent time management
- Familiarity with Compensation & Pension exam processes is a plus
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience with VA or government-related assessments
- Certification in military or veteran healthcare
- Proficiency with diagnostics or medical opinions
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master's degree or higher in Nursing
- Minimum of 2+ years of clinical experience in primary or internal medicine
- Previous experience performing assessments or exams in a legal or disability setting
Other Requirements:
- Owned office location within specified NV areas (Pahrump, Gardnerville/Minden, Ely)
- Willingness to travel locally within the designated radius
- Successful credentialing and onboarding process
- No reimbursement for certifications or portal training prior to employment
- Ability to perform assessments in a timely, efficient manner
