Estimator - Residential Construction
Position Summary
The Estimator / Project Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the successful delivery of residential construction projects from initial estimating through project completion and warranty. This position is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, managing budgets, coordinating project documentation and communication, and ensuring a seamless client experience throughout the construction process.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating :
- Receive plans and specifications from Sales and complete cost estimate for homes and remodels
- Obtain / review quotes from vendors / subcontractors for accuracy and prepare pricing for Sales
- Finalize Job Cost Budget (add all price updates / changes to the Job Cost) after contract is signed
- Update Job Cost Budget weekly during construction with actual costs
- Prepare final Budget / Actual report for Construction Manager at the end of each project
- Update Estimating Tool as necessary with vendor and subcontractor price changes
- Communicate drafting changes / corrections to Draftsperson
- Prepare pricing for all change orders for review by Construction Manager and release to client

Setup and maintain BuilderTrend project for all homes and remodelsResponsible for communication with client at key phases of constructionSchedule and participate in Pre-construction MeetingsResponsible for project selection deadlinesPrepares and submits documentation for required permitsCreates and updates all client files including signed contracts in the cloud, intranet, and physical folderReceive, review for accuracy, and upload Allowance Selections to BT for client approvalPrepare Statements of Work (SOW) for review by Construction Manager and release to subcontractorsSchedule Rough-In Walkthrough with client, subcontractors, and internal employeesPrepare all necessary plans and specifications for Rough-In WalkthroughAnswers / responds to phone calls, emails & messages from clients and vendors within 24 hoursPlaces orders for materials needed for projects after selections are approved.Monitors selection approvals by clients; contacts clients to remind them.Compiles Homeowners Manual for clients upon project completion.Closes BuilderTrend job after final payment is logged.Qualifications
3-5 years experience within residential construction in a support role such as estimating, project coordination, or related.Experience navigating construction management software, BuilderTrend preferredExperience preparing estimates, statements of work, budgets, and other documentation for residential construction projects#ZR
$65,000 - $85,000 a year
