Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Las Colinas is seeking a qualified Director of Perioperative Services (Preop / PACU / PAT.) Directs, coordinates and controls the multi-disciplinary activities for patients undergoing surgical intervention and recovery in a safe environment. Responsible for the interpretation, direction, and evaluation of nursing practice to promote safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective nursing care throughout the Pre-op, PACU and PAT areas. Demonstrates the primary goal of providing surgical and recovery care services that exceed customer expectations and improve clinical and financial operations. Serves as a leader and role model for the clinical staff. Makes decisions regarding direct patient care needs and communicates appropriate information to other team members. Helps maintain equipment, supplies, and cleanliness of unit as a whole. May have additional responsibilities as designed by the Chief Nursing Officer, which include, but are not limited to, providing patient care in other departments (after being oriented and educated), serving on committees, participating in quality improvement audits, and projects.

Required Experience :

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Minimum 2 year experience in a peri-operative, or ICU, PAT hospital setting
• 2 years management experience
• BSN or BA preferred
• Current Texas Nursing License
• Current CPR, ACLS, PALS
• Excellent communication skills
• Good Organization habits
• Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
