Overview :
We are seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst with experience in Claims and Underwriting to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, driving clarity and alignment throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This individual will lead requirements gathering sessions, document business processes, and translate business needs into actionable user stories.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead requirements gathering sessions with business stakeholders and technical teams.
Document business, functional, and non-functional requirements clearly and comprehensively.
Perform current state and target state analysis to identify process gaps and opportunities for improvement.
Develop detailed User Stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting artifacts in alignment with Agile methodologies.
Partner with product owners and technical teams to ensure business objectives are accurately captured and delivered.
Lead and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test case preparation, execution, and defect management.
Support all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from initiation through implementation.
Facilitate effective communication between business and IT to ensure smooth project execution.
Provide post-implementation support, ensuring successful adoption of new solutions and processes.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within insurance, claims, or underwriting environments.
Strong understanding of Claims and Underwriting processes and systems.
Proven ability to create clear documentation, process maps, and user stories.
Hands-on experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Experience conducting UAT and managing end-user validation.
Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, or similar platforms.
Preferred Skills :
Experience with policy administration, claims management, or underwriting platforms.
Knowledge of data flow, integration points, and reporting requirements within insurance systems.
Business Process Modeling (BPMN) or certification in CBAP / PMI-PBA is a plus.
