Abilityone Program Custodial Maintenance
The Abilityone Program is a federal initiative and the largest source of employment for people who are blind or have severe disabilities. Scheduled hours : On Call (0 - 15 hours per week) $17.75 plus $4.93 H&W ($22.68 total)
Job Summary
Performs custodial maintenance duties, including dusting, mopping, finishing and buffing floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, and cleaning and restocking restrooms.

Minimum Job Requirements
Less than high school; no previous experience required. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Distinguishing Characteristics
The position requires a) regular and routine dusting, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, and cleaning restrooms; b) routine maintenance of custodial equipment; and c) power equipment to buff and restore floors and shampoo carpets.
Conditions of Employment
Must meet program eligibility requirements. Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check. Must pass a government background to acquire naval access badge.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing or pulling required. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job. The work environment involves exposure to hazards or physical risks, requiring basic safety precautions. Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and / or loud noises.
