Description :
Our client is an established artisanal creamery based in Sonoma County that provides organic yogurts and cheeses across the country. We are seeking a Head of Human Resources to support a growing team of 80+ employees. This role will be responsible for recruiting, screening, onboarding, training, health benefits, and the 401k retirement plan. There are exciting opportunities to implement employee engagement initiatives and bring your expertise to ownership. Reporting directly to the owners, this role will begin as a department of one but will quickly be managing a dedicated HR Coordinator to assist with paperwork and other admin tasks.
This role is 100% onsite in Petaluma at the manufacturing facility and will require fluency in written and spoken Spanish to communicate with a diverse team of employees.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and administer policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with local, state, and federal laws
- Support Code of Conduct audits as requested by vendors
- Partner with department heads and ownership to ensure human resource initiatives are aligned across the organization
- Develop training materials and performance reviews, to help ensure employees understand their job responsibilities
- Responsible for coordinating and arranging interviews, recruiting and retention strategies, and the succession planning process
- Responsible for assisting all employees with 401 K benefits and health benefits
- Coordinates employee-relations activities and programs including but not limited to employee counseling, interpretation of policies, new employee orientation, and employee recognition programs
- Reviews employee relations issues and recommends appropriate responses to management
- Provides day-to-day guidance to all employees and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance
- Keeps up to date on the overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions
- Ensure employee physical files up to date
Requirements :
5+ years of experience in Human ResourcesExperience supporting Worker& Comp claims, FMLA, and other EDD related documentationUnderstanding of California employment law and labor regulationsWorking knowledge of tier 2 HRIS programs; experience with ADP or EASE is a plusCommitment to excellence and high standards.Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and EnglishAbility to be on-site in Petaluma, CA Monday-FridayBenefits :
