Position Summary :

Guiding Generations, aka Project GGGuiding GGGuiding Generations, aka Project GG, is a two-year intergenerational learning program that supports grandfamilies and kinship caregivers in North Philadelphia. Guiding Generations offers high quality caregiver support, youth enrichment, and intergenerational connection, through educational empowerment services for both the grandparent and their children. The program's goal is to prepare kinship caregivers to be confident, informed, and effective partners in their children's education while simultaneously strengthening family relationships and enhancing child development through enrichment experiences. Guiding Generations is housed at Temple University's CREATE and partners with the community-based programs, The Educational Advocates Reaching Today's Hardworking Students, Inc. (The EARTHS), and its affiliated program, PARENT POWER (What will you do with yours?) to serve grandparents with children aged 5-8. The program coordinator, working under the direction of the Associate Director of Family-Based Services, will be responsible for coordinating all components of the Guiding Generations project, its activities, and its partners.

The Project GG Program Coordinator must be available to work in-person on Saturdays, which is when programming (series workshops, respite trips, community events) will occur for the grandparent / kinship caregivers and their children (weekly, October through early June). The Program Coordinator would not work on Mondays following those Saturdays. Remote work opportunities are available for up to two days per week, at the discretion of the Program Coordinator's supervisor or the CREATE Director, and dependent on work performance.

Ten percent of the Project GG Program Coordinator's role is dedicated outside of the Guiding Generations program and funding, to support related programming within CREATE.

Guiding Generations is an externally grant-funded project, supported by the William Penn Foundation, for a period of 2 years (August 2025 - July 2027). The continuation of this position is dependent on new funding for the project beyond this 2-year grant.
