Interim Controller

Position will be on-site daily in Brooklyn, NY. Parking available.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations and maintain nonprofit books, including endowments
• Manage monthly close (approx. 2 weeks), ensuring proper journal entries and internal controls
• Review reconciliations, reports, payments, and payroll summaries for accuracy
• Provide indirect oversight to two accounting staff and support team continuity
• Prepare for annual audit in January and coordinate audit deliverables
• Ensure smooth transfer of knowledge and compliance with nonprofit accounting standards

Experience Preferred

Pay Rate : $60-80 / hr commensurate with experience
