Job Duties & Responsibilities :

The Facility Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical plant and ensuring a safe, clean, and functional work environment in a large-scale nutraceutical manufacturing facility. This role involves a variety of tasks, including general maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance, with a specific focus on supporting manufacturing and warehouse operations.

Responsibilities :

• Manufacturing Support :

Maintain and repair manufacturing equipment, including painting systems, HVAC units, drywall partitions, and other essential components.

• Ensure the proper functioning of forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Support warehouse operations by maintaining racking systems, dock doors, dock plates, and air compressors.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Preventative Maintenance :

Execute a comprehensive preventative maintenance schedule for all facility systems and equipment, including those specific to nutraceutical manufacturing.

• Conduct regular inspections and identify and address potential problems before they occur.
• Safety :

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures, including those related to manufacturing and warehouse operations.

• Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards promptly.
• Energy Efficiency : Monitor energy consumption and implement measures to improve energy efficiency in the manufacturing and warehouse facilities.
• Emergency Response : Respond to emergencies, such as equipment breakdowns, power outages, or leaks, in a timely and effective manner.
• Vendor Management : Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors for specialized services as needed.
• Documentation : Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.

Qualifications :

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in facility maintenance or a related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills, with a focus on industrial equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications :

• HVAC certification
• Plumbing license
• Electrical license
• Experience with building automation systems
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment

Physical Requirements :

• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, often up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in noisy environments.
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
