Brown & Brown of Florida's Fort Lauderdale office is growing and seeking an exceptional individual with proven discipline, and commitment to join our team as a Claims Coordinator for our Commercial Insurance Lines Division!
Accept and handle all types of Commercial and Condominium Claims. Provide prompt, accurate and courteous claim service to Agency’s customers, both internal and external.
WHAT YOU'LL DO :
- Acceptance of all Claims, making assignments to companies and / or independent services, discussions with insureds regarding coverage, comparative negligence and processing of claims.
- Customer visits as needed to discuss claims handling, claims issues, preventative / mitigating measures.
- Oversee clerical processing of all incoming / outgoing claim documentation.
- Monitor claim workflow and create or recommend procedures to increase efficiency.
- Organize claims department to assure management objectives are met.
- Research coverages, read policies and discuss coverages with producers, account executives, account managers, customers regarding same.
- Develop new ways to improve claim handling, customers’ perception and expectations to increase account retention.
- Reading, analyzing and processing of litigation paperwork.
- Reserve monitoring and communication with companies regarding reserve valuation.
- Ongoing claims monitoring / management.
- Maintain diary system relating to first party losses and claims in subrogation.
- Assist underwriting staff with claims information, review loss runs with carriers.
- Completion of customer reports and suit activities as needed.
- Process data and prepare claims management reports, through analysis make recommendations for departmental improvement.
- Preparation of professional business letters.
- Develop claim related training workshops for staff and clientele
- Attend training and seminars as necessary to stay current with changes in law and industry.
- Pursue a program of personal and professional development.
- Attendance is a requirement for this position.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED :
- Four year college degree or equivalent
- 220 Florida Agents and / or 620 Florida Adjuster’s License
- Insurance designations preferred
- At least five years of insurance claims adjusting experience.
