Drafter/CAD Operator

ASI is seeking experienced CAD Designers and Operators capable of developing and updating 2D drawings and 3D CAD models to support US DoD projects in Jacksonville, FL.

Responsibilities :

• Develop and update 2D drawings and 3D CAD models
• Utilize drawing and 3D modeling standards and instructions such as MIL-STD-A, ASME Y.14.-, NAVAIRINST .14E, etc.
• Provide technical direction and oversight to less experienced drafters and designers
• Rely on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
• Utilize a wide degree of creativity and latitude in daily activities

Required Qualifications :

• High School Diploma
• 4+ years of work experience developing 2D and 3D models and drawings
• Familiarity with drawing standards and instructions such as MIL-STD-A, ASME Y.14.-, NAVAIRINST .14E, etc.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Solid Edge, and / or Inventor
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications :

• Associate degree in Drafting or Engineering Technology with 3+ years of work experience developing 2D and 3D models and drawings
• 7+ years of experience in 2D / 3D drawing / model development
• Detailed understanding of drawing and modeling standards and instructions utilized by NAVAIR
• Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD
• Proficient with Solid Edge, SolidWorks, Inventor, NX and / or CATIA
• Experience in the application of GD&T principles (IAW ASME Y14.5-)
• Working knowledge of primary, secondary and systems aircraft structure
• Familiarity with maintenance and repair practices used in the aerospace industry

Work Authorization / Security Clearance :

Must be a U.S. Citizen and qualify for Secret Clearance
