Technologist I
Summary
As a Technologist I, you will play a crucial role in delivering quality patient care by ensuring the acceptability of specimens for testing and conducting routine and complex technical procedures in accordance with established criteria and Standard Operating Procedures. You will :
- Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure optimal functionality and make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.
- Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls and report accurate and timely test results.
- Responsibilities will also include performing and documenting preventive maintenance and quality control procedures, replenishing testing bench supplies, and assisting with specimen processing as needed.
- Work both independently and within a team environment, and demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, strong communication and organizational skills, and proficiency with computers.
- Maintain a safe work environment by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and passing a standardized color vision screen.
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts may be required based on business needs.
Requirements :
- You must have a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements
- A minimum of 1-2 years of clinical laboratory testing experience is required for Technologist I, while previous experience is not required at the Technologist Trainee level.
- ASCP or AMT certification is preferred, and specific state licenses may be necessary.
