Day to Day :
Report directly to the Mining Controls Engineering Manager and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
Lead the definition and development of control systems for new products and enhancements to existing product lines, covering the full lifecycle : customer requirements, concept selection, modeling, simulation, implementation, verification, validation, and field testing.
Design and specify control software to meet system performance and reliability goals.
Develop power circuit concepts and simulations, and define requirements for power components.
Ensure control system designs meet EMC and EMI compliance standards; support related testing and certification processes.
Document system-level requirements and cascade them to subsystem and component development teams.
Review and assess subsystem and component development outputs, including verification results.
Coordinate system and subsystem testing across internal facilities, third-party labs, and customer sites.
Conduct hands-on testing of power circuits and control systems at internal labs, external facilities, customer proving grounds, and operational mine sites.
Plan and manage project activities, track progress, and communicate status updates, business impacts, and key developments.
Troubleshoot and resolve field issues related to control systems and power circuits as assigned.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their technical development.
Travel periodically (typically 13 weeks at a time) to support testing activities and field investigations

Requirements :
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering required; advanced degrees in Electrical Engineering are strongly preferred.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in an engineering role, with a proven track record of technical leadership and innovation.
Strong background in developing and testing control systems for motors, alternators, and power electronics.
Skilled in using simulation tools like MATLAB / Simulink, PLECS, or similar for system modeling and analysis.
Experienced in designing systems and performing detailed circuit analysis.
