Staff Accountant

Shift / Hours : Monday - Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM Pay Rate : $20 / hr Location : Fort Myers, FL Experience : 2+ Years

Staff Accountant Key Responsibilities :

Bookkeeping & General Ledger : Manage the day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.

Financial Reporting : Prepare and publish timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss Statements, and Cash Flow Reports.

Month / Year-End Close : Execute timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

Compliance & Tax : Compute and prepare tax payments and returns (e.g., sales tax, payroll tax, working with external CPA for corporate tax filings), ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.

Budgeting & Analysis : Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction or revenue enhancement.

Payroll : Oversee and process payroll accurately and on time, including managing employee expense reports.

Audits : Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals as needed.

Process Improvement : Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Staff Accountant Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field.

2 years of proven working experience as an Accountant or in a relevant field, preferably in a small business environment.

Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).

Advanced MS Excel skills.

Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and communicate complex financial information clearly.
