Position : Junior Architect / Junior Architectural Designer
Reports to : Project Architect / Senior Architect / Associate Director
Pay : $50,000 - $60,000 annually

Position purpose : The Junior Architect / Junior Architectural Designer works as a part of the project design team to create and develop designs, produce drawings and assist in overseeing the construction process for various projects. They embody the culture of the studio and support the team to translate the aesthetic vision into a project.
Responsibilities
- Design : Research and develop architectural design concepts that match the client and firm’s aesthetic, functional goals, and budget.
- Create drawings and renderings and any relevant items for client presentations as delegated by project lead.
- Source relevant material samples for projects.
- Preparation of project specification binders / bins for jobs.
- Documentation & Project Delivery : Assist with preparing drawing sets and documentation to be filed with local agencies including, but not limited to department of buildings, landmarks, or historic agencies.
- Assist with project specifications and schedules with accurate product information for all windows, doors, hardware, plumbing, appliances, lighting and finishes.
- Work with the designated project lead to ensure projects adhere to all applicable codes and energy standards.
- Assist in the preparation of applicable AIA contracts.
- Assist with preparing and circulating bid drawings to applicable contractors and fabricators for review by the designated project lead.
- Assist with Construction Administration and Contract Administration throughout project construction, including a first review of project submittals and shop drawings, samples and mockups.
- Assist designated project lead during site visits.
- Create documentation of construction progress in written and photographic form, work with the designated project lead to respond to contractor RFI’s, create punch lists, and review contractor payment requisitions.
- Assist with updating the project files and documents throughout a project, including during Construction Administration.
- Assist project staff with the procurement of architectural or construction items.
- Project Administrative Responsibilities : Work across multiple deadlines, project scopes and aesthetics simultaneously.
- Utilizes project action item lists in the task management process.
- Responsible for time tracking and maintaining detailed and accurate timesheets, reviewing budgeted project hours and adhering to project schedules.
- Attend client, consultant, and contractor meetings, document and circulate accurate meeting minutes to the project team.
- Communicate with colleagues in a timely manner and in the appropriate tone of the studio culture.
- General Studio Responsibilities : Efficiently work with the project team on multiple projects; developing strong communications skills with team members.
- Participates in studio culture building initiatives.
- Participate in at least one internal office committee.
- Perform various additional administrative tasks as requested.
- Business Development : Attend industry events, trade shows and openings when possible.
- Engage in continuing education and lunch and learn events.
- Client Management : Interact with clients in a professional manner; Ensure clients are kept informed of any updates for the project in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications
Standard Qualifications : Professional Degree in Architecture; Minimum of 1 year of full-time relevant work experience in the architecture industry.Required Skills : Strong communication and presentation skills; Experience with space planning; Experience with hand and digital drafting, and 3D modeling; Experience preparing construction and filing sets; Experience selecting and specifying fixtures, materials, and finishes; Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup, G-Suite, and Microsoft Office.Compensation & Benefits
Pay rate : Salary range is commensurate with experience $50,000 - $60,000 not inclusive of benefits or bonuses.Pay period : Bi-Weekly through Justworks (PEO)Benefits : 15 days of Paid Time Off annually; access, with contributions, to company Medical Insurance, Dental and Vision Insurance, and 401k.
