As Assistant Director of Nursing, you will assist the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of nursing services, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the facility.
- Directly manage all monthly risk management, quality improvement (CQI), and infection control meetings, documentation, and in-services for facility
- Supervise and manage assigned staff, including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, training, and ongoing support;
resolve employee relations issues as needed; make decisions related to employment
- Assist the Director of Nursing in determining the staffing needs of the nursing services department
- Responsible for rotating all on-call schedules and to fill in as floor nurse as needed
- Make daily rounds of the nursing service departments to ensure that all nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards;
report any findings to Director of Nursing
- Assist the Director of Nursing in the development of in-service training programs for the nursing staff
- Ensure that training programs meet the continuing education requirements which allow licensed personnel to keep their licenses in an active status
- Manage all Minimum Data Set (MDS) reports in compliance with state regulations, as needed
- Serve as a positive role model for all staff, service providers, and the community at large
Qualifications :
- Associate Degree in Nursing with current RN licensure
- Three years of experience working with people with developmental disabilities
- A combination of education and experience that provides equivalent proficiency in the areas of responsibility may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements
- Additional certificates / licenses as required by the state
- Current in CPR / BLS certificates
- Strong communication skills with ability to build rapport with others
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented
