Travel Nursing Job Details

Assignment Type : Travel Nursing – Med / Surg RN

Location : Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Virginia healthcare jobs)

Unit : Med / Surg Orthopedics (60% orthopedics, 40% general medical)

Shift : 12-hour night shifts

Hours per Week : 36

Assignment Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 17 / 2025, End : 2 / 14 / 2026)

Orientation : Every other Monday

Weekends : 2-3 weekends per month, based on unit needs

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1680 - $1800

Local Attractions : Historic downtown, riverfront parks, Blue Ridge Mountains

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg RN experience (travel nursing experience required)

Active Virginia or Compact RN license (required at start)

BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)

Completed Skills Checklist and Nursys / license verification

Submit all requested time off with application

Ability to explain any employment gaps over 90 days

Teaching hospital experience preferred

Applicants must reside more than 60 miles from Lynchburg, VA

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care on a Med / Surg Orthopedics unit (orthopedics and general medical)

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes

Float to other hospital units as needed per facility requirements

Participate in orientation and ongoing professional development

Work 12-hour night shifts, including 2-3 weekends per month

Maintain accurate nursing documentation and uphold hospital standards
