First Physicians Group of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System seeks a BC / BE Gastroenterology Hospitalist to join their expanding physician group in sunny Sarasota, Florida. The ideal candidate will work a 7 on / 7 off schedule, supported by advanced practice providers, in a high-volume endoscopy unit with state-of-the-art facilities. First Physicians Group of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is looking to employ a BC / BE Gastroenterology Hospitalist to join their successful employed physician group on the West Coast of Florida. Sarasota is located approximately 60 minutes south of Tampa. The area is known for the arts, great restaurants, world-class beaches, excellent schools and a wide variety of activities for all ages.

First Physicians Group Gastroenterology practice was developed in 2020 and has quickly expanded to 10 board-certified Gastroenterologists supported by 12 Advanced Practice Providers. The Gastroenterology practice resides in specialty-specific building adjacent to the main hospital which includes a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center and clinic performing 9,500 procedures for fiscal year ending September 2023.

The size and diversity of the campus, as well as tremendous inpatient and outpatient volume, offers opportunity for recruitment of Gastroenterologists of all skill sets and interests. The Gastroenterology Division is comprised of an Interventional Endoscopy Section as well as a section of General Gastroenterology and Hepatology and presents an opportunity for academic affiliation and / or appointment from Florida State University College of Medicine.

Highlights of the position include :

• 7 on / 7 off with night call responsibility Friday through Sunday only.
• GI Hospitalist will be supported by our Advanced Practice Providers.
• EUS / ERCP is not required for the position.
• High volume and efficiently run endoscopy unit with more than 8,400 endoscopic procedures performed annually at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
• State of the art equipment and generous budget for fostering new technologies and equipment.
• Procedures currently performed include : EGD, Colonoscopy, Diagnostic and Interventional EUS, ERCP, Balloon Enteroscopy, Endoscopic Resection, Ablation of Barrett Esophagus, Trans-oral Incisionless Fundoplication, Capsule Endoscopy, and High Resolution Esophageal and Rectal Manometry.
• Excellent relationships with Primary Care, Inpatient Medical Hospitalists, and Surgical sub-specialties.
