Job Description
Responsibilities The Group Specialist 2 provides group therapy to residents/clients and families per program needs. They may also assist in providing direct patient care and oversight. The group specialist 2 works under the supervision of an RN, LISW-S, LISW, PCC, PCC-S or psychiatrist. The Group Specialist position requires some weekend and evening hours. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications Education: High School Diploma/GED. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Must possess knowledge of developmental and life stage of and psychiatric problems peculiar to younger childhood (ages 3-7), middle childhood (ages 8-), and adolescent (ages to ) populations.
Licensure : N/A
Experience : Previous work experience in a mental healthcare facility is highly preferred.
Skills/Traits: Ability to communicate information in a positive manner with all levels of people, and age groups. Must be able to maintain professionalism in dealing with residents/clients, families, physicians, supervisors, and staff members. Ability to maintain confidentially of information contained in medical records. Ability to act in a mature manner in situations that call for diplomacy and tact is needed. The candidate should possess a command of the English language with well-developed verbal and written skills. Must be organized, computer literate, and possess good time management skills.
