The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary :
The Training Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and enhancing training programs for the Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC), Jerome L. Greene Science Center (JLG), and Morningside Campus (MS) Institute of Comparative Medicine (ICM) staff, and all researchers. This includes organizing American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) and Surgical Research certification classes and assisting ICM staff in obtaining certifications. The incumbent ensures timely and cost-effective completion of tasks in compliance with federal agency and Columbia University policies and procedures, maintaining performance standards consistent with the Institute of Comparative Medicine.
Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelors degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three (3) years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications :
AALAS certification at the LATG level preferred; may be waived with a Masters degree or higher. Previous experience training staff in animal care, husbandry, or biosecurity procedures.
