A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A METAL FABRICATOR

As a Metal Fabricator, you will be responsible for assembling frames and attaching door hardware to it . You will use a CNC machine to cut holes and notches into aluminum stock and fabricate it into frames using drills and other power tools . You will inspect products for any abnormalities and ensure a high-quality product.

Using our standard operating processes and software, you will ensure metal product in created for commercial jobs on time and to specifications. Attention to detail and accuracy are key to success. Your ideas matter and will be key to continuous improvement for Minneapolis Glass.

METAL FABRICATOR / CNC OPERATOR QUALIFICATIONS :

• High School degree / GED required
• 2 years of experience in metal fabrication or related metal manufacturing
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs. unassisted and up to 150 lbs. assisted
• Ability to stand for 8 hours a day with frequent lifting, carrying, bending and stretching
• Ability to accurately use a tape measure and read blueprints
• Experience operating a CNC machine with aluminum strongly preferred
• Familiarity with general mechanical tools, forklifts, cranes and other machines
