We are seeking a Senior Cost Analyst for a long-term project with a company in Atlanta. This person will be responsible for conducting detailed production cost analyses and preparing budget reports for the manufacturing industry.
This role includes thorough examination of financial statements, evaluation of budget proposals, and investigation of optical cost allocations.
The individual will periodically review the company’s operations, efficiency and cost control measures.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee and conduct regular cost analyses on internal company operations and expenses, comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
- Develop and maintain cost accounting system, documentation, and records of the organization.
- Evaluate production costs, gains & losses, inventory, and other reports to ensure accuracy and adherence with company protocols and regulations.
- Design and implement effective budget models for departments and the entire organization.
- Analyze, interpret complex cost data and report financial status to management
- Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain departments to analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and assist in forecasting future revenues.
- Assist in audits and general ledger preparation.
- Suggest cost effective solutions to streamline operations and reduce costs.
- Perform regular risk analysis, profitability analysis, and variance analysis.
- Prepare (monthly, quarterly and annual) cost forecasts.
Required Skills / Education :
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or other related fields.
- Proven experience as a Cost Analyst, Cost Accountant, or similar role of at least 5 years, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Excellent analytical skills with an attention to details.
- Deep knowledge of accounting principles and cost accounting standards.
- Proficient with ERP systems and data analysis tools.
- Strong computer literacy, with command on MS Office programs, particularly in MS Excel.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Certification from recognized bodies like CMA, CPA is a plus.
