SUMMARY :

Marathon Petroleum Company is on the lookout for a Senior Safety Systems Analyst to enhance our high-performing health and safety team. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead strategic initiatives that will shape the future of our safety and quality programs.

You will be integral to the Transportation and Rail (T&R) Health and Safety group, supporting our Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS) and local self-auditing programs while managing strategic planning efforts. Given that safe driving is fundamental to our operations within this group, you will also oversee our Lytx DriveCam program.

The position is ideally based in Southern California, but other MPC locations are open for consideration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Oversee Audit Program Management, develop audit plans, write protocols, train auditors, support execution, and report findings to management, while coordinating with environmental SMEs and managing security assessments.

Ensure DOT Compliance by working with the environmental safety and security compliance team for proper data access, invoice approvals, and incident reporting, seamlessly integrating this information into Power BI dashboards.

Support the Safe Driving Program by managing user roles, vehicle assignments, data reporting, and collaborating with department leaders, conducting annual reviews, and facilitating monthly calls.

Own the Recommendations Process, delivering quarterly reports to leadership, maintaining BI dashboards, assisting with change requests, and ensuring compliance with documentation.

Manage Incident Reporting and work closely with the T&R Incident Coordinator to handle reports accurately, follow up on tasks, and conduct facilitating calls as needed.

Collaborate with the Knowledge Management Performance Improvement (KMPI) group to coordinate OEMS activities, run risk assessments, support management reviews, and develop T&R-specific OEMS Power BI reports.

Facilitate Strategic Planning by working with the KMPI team to develop annual goals with H&S managers, focusing on continuous improvement and providing updates to leadership.

Manage Power BI reports and dataflows, overseeing the T&R HES Data workspace, verifying metrics weekly, and facilitating reporting to leadership.

Support Records Coordination by ensuring proper compliance and promoting effective document storage methods, while participating in quarterly calls with the KMPI team.

Assist in the development and management of the Management of Change (MOC) process and data flows.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

A Bachelor's degree in business or a related field is required.

At least 4 years of relevant work experience is required, with 7 or more years preferred.

Experience managing health and safety systems such as DriveCam and Intelex is preferred.

Prior experience with management systems and auditing is preferred.

A valid driver's license is required.

Ability to collaborate with diverse groups, including corporate experts and field leaders.

Build and maintain trust with internal stakeholders to facilitate process improvement.

Strong problem-solving, organization, presentation, and written communication skills are essential.

Facilitate effective meetings and work to build consensus.

Leverage technology to enhance opportunities for innovation and efficiency.

Consolidate information from various sources into tailored reports for diverse audiences.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

This role involves frequent sitting and regular standing, walking, reaching, and the need for visual acuity to operate computers and other devices.

Pay Min / Max : $104,300.00 - $179,800.00 Salary
