Employee Relations Program Manager

Reports To : Vice President, Human Resources

Location

Phoenix, AZ (Gilbert, AZ)

Salary : $90 to $110K

This position is open until filled.

Position Overview : Loenbro is looking for an experienced and proactive Employee Relations Program Manager to join our dynamic HR team. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of comprehensive employee relations experience, preferably within the construction industry. In this role, you will manage complex employee relations issues, ensure compliance with labor laws, and help foster a positive workplace culture. This position is also responsible for designing, implementing, and managing programs and strategies that promote positive employee relations. Must be able to pass company pre-employment drug and alcohol tests.

Job Duties :

  • Develop and oversee employee relations programs and initiatives to support a positive workplace environment.
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of employee complaints, workplace issues, and policy violations.
  • Guide management on employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including labor regulations specific to the construction industry.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote fair and consistent treatment of employees.
  • Collaborate with managers and HR partners to address and resolve workplace issues while maintaining a balanced approach to employee and organizational needs.
  • Facilitate training for managers and employees on conflict resolution, workplace harassment, and other employee relations topics.
  • Partner with HR leadership to identify trends and recommend proactive strategies for improving employee engagement and retention.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and trends, particularly those affecting the construction industry.
  • Analyze employee relations trends and metrics to identify areas for improvement and recommend proactive strategies.
  • Regularly review and update employee policies, procedures, and handbooks to ensure alignment with legal requirements and best practices.
  • Partner with legal counsel and HR leadership to address complex employee relations matters.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills / Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time and the flexibility to travel with less than 24 hour notice periodically.
  • Minimum of 5 years of employee relations experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role, with a strong preference for experience in the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Experience conducting investigations and managing conflict resolution.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Must have computer skills.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) is highly desirable.
