Sustainability Coordinator
Northampton
Monday – Friday
£30-40k per annum DOE

Our well-established client a nationwide large contractor, are looking for a forward-thinking individual to join their team, with the overall target to contribute to their plan of achieving their carbon zero targets. Your focus will be measuring and recording their operational carbon footprint working closely with external suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Measuring and recording operational carbon footprint - Scopes 1&2,3
- Coordinating Green Supply Chain, operational carbon footprint data – Scopes 1,2&3
- Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting / Energy Saving Opportunity Support data

Coordinating operational reporting requirements and reviewing actions needed for year aheadEnsuring carbon factors are up to date in line with DEFRA / BEISAssisting with development of operational reporting processesLiaising with internal teams during data collection process and analysing dataLiaising with external suppliers to capture relevant data and analyseLiaising with the supply chain to collect scope 3 GHG emissionsUnderstanding GHG protocol and working within the guidelinesEnsuring reviewing and keeping up to date with the latest published data and guidelines from BEIS / Government / other relevant bodiesEnsuring the use of appropriate evidence for reporting and to maintain accurate dataEnsuring data quality for carbon reportingGenerating innovative ideas to help reduce carbon emissions in the industryLiaising with other departments to improve the collection, input and reporting ofSustainability and Net Zero data
Supporting target to achieve its carbon-zero targets by 2025Staying up to date with new technology, innovations and best practice in the industry to acceleration the client's sustainability journeyDelivering Sustainability inductions to new startersGeneral Sustainability / NZ / ESG supportActing as a Sustainability / NZ champion within the businessSkills / Competencies Required
Understanding of the principles of Sustainability and Net ZeroUnderstanding of Net Zero frameworksUnderstand GHG emission reporting – Scope 1,2 &3Excel level 3 requiredAnalytical skills required / understanding of creating formulasWorkload prioritising to meet deadlinesInitiativeData / statistical analysis / reportingAttention to detail / accuracyProofing / editingBusiness priorities / initiatives awarenessSupplier engagementProjects / site engagementSector / project intel / awarenessSign-off procedures followedTakes ownership and responsibility for own workExperience / Qualifications
Have a passion for sustainability and a drive to reduce carbon emissionsDemonstrable knowledge of the construction industry or experience in a similar field is highly desirableWork with accuracy and attention to detailAbility to manage time and workload effectivelyAnalytical and critical thinking skillsComputer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft packages, includingMicrosoft Excel and Word
Knowledge of PDF editing software (i.e., Adobe / Bluebeam) and / or computer aidedmodelling software (i.e., CAD / Revit) would be desirable
Excellent verbal and communication skillsDesire to learn and continuously develop, with an ability to challenge establishedprocesses and policies, identifying more effective solutions
Ability to build relationships and work well with a variety of stakeholdersDemonstrate a high level of teamwork, discipline, and enthusiasmBenefits
