Store Manager Candidate
Dollar General Corporation has a mission to serve others and values each employee. This position supports the store manager in implementing store processes, employee supervision, inventory management, and more. The role fosters development for the store manager position and is temporary.
Duties and essential job functions include :
- Assisting in recruiting and staffing activities.
- Helping with store merchandising by staging, stocking, and presenting merchandise.
- Assisting in inventory management, including damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
- Following ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
- Providing superior customer service leadership.
- Participating in store opening and closing activities.
- Ensuring the safe deposit of company funds.
- Operating the store in the store manager's absence.
- Reviewing operating statements to identify business trends.
- Completing all paperwork and documentation.
Qualifications include :
Ability to read and interpret documents.Knowledge of cash handling procedures.Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.Working conditions and physical requirements include frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 40 pounds, occasionally up to 55 pounds. Occasional driving and exposure to outside weather conditions.
