Job Summary :

The Senior Accounting Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities and other related financial activities.

Duties / Responsibilities :

• Perform month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement analysis.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports to support management decision-making.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Support external audit and tax preparation processes.
• Assist in preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports, including state and federal tax reporting; and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards.
• Perform technical accounting research and provide recommendations for proper accounting treatment.
• Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Mentor other accounting staff members and provide guidance on accounting principles and procedures.
• Assist in the implementation of accounting software systems and provide training to team members.
• Monitor, and assist with, accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed.
• Assist with accruals, and month-end and year-end closings.

Required Skills / Abilities :

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Clear handwriting

Education and Experience :

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field Three to five years of related experience required.
• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• CPA certification or CPA candidate preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements :

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at a time.
