Job Responsibilities :
The Engineer II (MTS) is a part of the internal MTS team and your support of critical activities within our manufacturing support team will help us bring our RNAi technology to patients.
We are looking for an energetic, collaborative, and curious individual to perform experiments and testing at our drug product and combination product (device) development labs. Our new team member will be responsible for execution of experiments, in-process, and final product testing in support of non-GMP manufacturing at Cambridge development labs.
Demonstrated technical ability in analytics with responsibilities including but not limited to :
- Assist in the execution of development experiments
- Provide laboratory organization support for general operation
- With support, execute and document drug delivery device testing
- Performance of analytical in-process, and final product testing for bulk drug product, and drug product (e.g. compendial methods, UPLC / HPLC, particle size analysis, spectroscopy).
- Assist in the coordination of routine and non-routine sample submissions (paper and / or LabWare LIMS) including receipt, aliquoting, inventory management, and shipping to external laboratories, as needed
- Contribute to new and revisions of technical documents (e.g. SOPs, protocols, reports, etc.)
- Support and contribute to method and equipment lifecycle (e.g. implementation, qualification, validation, maintenance)
- Work with management and team on investigations
- Support CAPA and continuous improvement efforts

Knowledge / Experience / Skill :
B.S. in applicable science field2+ years of experience in a laboratory settingCompetence with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPointData Trending experience (Excel, JMP) is desirableScope :
Ability to work independentlyExcellent team skills, organization, collaborative spirit, and strong communication skills (written and verbal)Ability to maneuver through changing prioritiesExperience or exposure to working in GMP environments is desiredMust be able to adhere to all laboratory safety requirementsAbility to travel between domestic Alnylam sites is helpful (Kendall, Alewife and Norton)May be required to lift objects up to 50lbsExp Nice to have :
engineering background, process dev background, executing investigations in the lab (commercial manufacturing problems), resource will be shared with another group that focuses on device testingIdeal is minimum 2 years of professional lab experience but open to someone out of college if they have at least 2 years of academic lab exp.Education : Degree science background minimum (biochemistry, wet lab exp is fine) but prefer engineering
Location : Mostly day to day in Cambridge - needs to be able to commute to Norton as needed too (Please call out in notes if they are unable to travel to both)
